Minehead AFC dispatched Clutton with a 5-0 triumph in their recent match, marking consecutive wins.
Clutton, still licking their wounds from a 9-0 defeat by Sporting Weston, faced a resolute Minehead who were determined to run riot.
Matty Ronan showed intent as early as the third minute, but his appeal for a penalty was dismissed by the referee.
With Ronan and Olly Prescott steering the team, it wasn't long before Blues' top scorer, Toby Waghorn, tested Clutton's goalkeeper.
It was, however, Prescott who opened the floodgates in the 18th minute, converting a cunning curling cross from Toby Morris from the far post.
Defender JJ Knight doubled the lead within ten minutes, efficiently slotting another precision pass from Will Singleton-Voss beyond the keeper's reach.
The third goal, a mirror-image of the first, came just two minutes later at the hands of Stefan Phillips - effectively sealing the game before half-time.
The second half, made trickier by persistent rain but with the win well within sight, provided manager Lee Todd with the opportunity to rest his starting team, introducing all five substitutes.
Two of these, Bertie Harvey-Larmar and Josh Elston, added further goals to the scoreline, thereby consolidating Minehead's dominance over Clutton.
The line-up included Greg Turner, Knight, Harvey Lovell, Louis Burge, Sam Jackson, Singleton-Voss, Phillips, man of the match Ronan, Waghorn, Olly Prescott, and Toby Morris.
Elston, Sam Heath, Bertie Harvey-Larmar, Declan Green, and Fin Harran were all utilised from the bench.
This 5-0 victory brings them within a point of third-placed Combe St Nicholas, but with four of the top six enjoying matches in hand, the Blues will need to keep up their momentum in their next match, when they face Peasedown Miners Welfare.
As with Clutton, the clubs first battled over a century ago, and all three still call home the very grounds upon which those historic games were played.
