After the weather put pay to another match for Wellington AFC on Tuesday (December 9), attention turns to a festive special event at the weekend.
The Tangerines welcome Somerset rivals Clevedon Town to the Carly Press Ground on Saturday (December 13) and the day will also be the annual Christmas Jumpers Day.
People heading down to the ground for the game are encouraged to throw on their most festive garments. Wellington Silver Band will be playing carols ahead of kick off and there will be mince pies on sale and a bucket collection with all proceeds going to St Margaret’s Hospice.
Wellington will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat away at Bradford Town on Saturday. The weather has not been kind to the Tangerines whose previous fixture was back on November 19 against Buckland Athletic.
Clevedon Town arrive on Saturday top of the league and on a three-match unbeaten run.
