Taunton Town striker Ben Seymour has committed his future to the club after signing an 18-month deal.

The forward has spent the first half of the season on loan at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium from Torquay United.

As reported by the Somerset County Gazette, Seymour’s contract at Plainmoor was cancelled by mutual consent before Christmas.

Taunton Town have now confirmed Seymour will play for the Peacocks until at least the summer of 2027.

He said: “Delighted to be here for the next 18 months. The supporters have been so welcoming since I’ve come in, and I’m really excited to be part of the project.

“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind of a season, but I’m excited to be part of a club that has huge ambition and to get this club back to where it belongs.”

Manager Gary Johnson added: “I’m delighted that the football club have offered Ben this contract, and that he will commit his future to Taunton Town for the next 18 months.

“I know him, and his ability, very well and what he can continue to achieve for us. Ben’s always good to call upon for double figures, and if we can find our groove with chances – which I believe we have, with a little bit more work in our attacking prowess – I’m sure the goals will come.”

Seymour has been a full-time professional since signing his first pro contract with Exeter City in 2017, and the forward quickly progressed through the ranks at St. James Park. He went on to make 71 appearances for Exeter in the EFL.

Following a hugely successful spell in non-league with Plymouth Parkway, where he scored 20 goals in 37 appearances, he was then rewarded with a move to Hampton & Richmond in the National League South, scoring 14 goals in 41 appearances.

Seymour joined Torquay United in June 2014, scoring one goal in 14 appearances, and spent the latter half of the 2024-25 season on loan at AFC Totton, helping the Stags earn their first ever promotion to the National League South.
