Gary Johnson will be continuing as manager of Taunton Town in the 2026-27 season, the club has confirmed.
Following the 0-0 draw in their final game of the season at home to Evesham on Saturday (April 25), the club announced to the fans who stayed behind that Johnson had agreed to stay as manager.
Johnson, who made his name helping Yeovil Town get promoted all the way up to the Championship and also managed Bristol City, came in at Christmas.
Since then, he has overseen a turn around in form for the club who up until the end of March looked set for the drop down to Southern League Division One South.

Speaking to the fans after the Evesham game, Johnson said: “I’m delighted to be staying because there are some great people here.
“Everyone has made me feel welcome right from day one.
“I promise the supporters that we’ll build a team that entertains.
“I like to win games and put on a show, especially when you’ve got 1,300 people coming through the gate.
“I think over the past six or seven games they have seen that have an entertaining group.”
Gary Johnson took over the reigns of the football club after previous manager Richard Luffman resigned follow a poor spell of form in the first half of the season.
And Johnson’s reign as manager started as it meant to go on – with a home win over promotion contenders Gloucester City in front of a bumper crowd at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium.
The home form would prove to be key for Johnson’s Taunton as he would go on to oversee an unbeaten run at the Cygnet that lasted all the way through the rest of the season – seven wins and four draws.
Coming into the April, Taunton Town were without a win in four and, with three of the top five to play, looking doomed to relegation.
But Johnson masterminded an unprecedented run of results that saw Taunton go undefeated for the final eight games of the season.
After draws against Hanwell Town and Basingstoke Town, Taunton beat champions-elect Walton & Hersham at home over the Easter weekend before going to Gloucester City and completing the double over them.
Then came a run of four home games to finish the season. First they defeated Uxbridge, then Bracknell Town and then a victory over Farnham Town confirmed their survival before the final day draw with Evesham Town.
