Taunton Town’s preparations for the new season are beginning to take shape with the first two friendlies announced.

The Peacocks will be taking on a couple of local rivals in their preparations for the 2026–27 season.

The club announced they would be welcoming Weston-super-Mare AFC to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium on Tuesday, July 21.

When the sides last clashed in the FA Cup last season, Taunton Town took the National League South side to a replay before eventually bowing out.

Weston went on to make it through to round three.

Four days after that friendly, Taunton welcome yet another rival to the Cygnet as Tiverton Town come to town.

The Devon outfit were relegated from Southern League Premier South last season, but the Taunton faithful need only wait until July for the next M5 derby.

The Peacocks did not have the best time of it against Tiverton last season, but there are a few former Tiverton players in the Taunton squad – Niall Thompson, Jack Rice, and Dan Koita.
