Taunton Town have confirmed that Phil Mendonca has agreed terms with the club for the 2026-27 season.
Mendonca’s career has been blighted by injuries, having originally signed for the Peacocks in the summer of 2023 after a successful trial spell.
Now, after regaining his fitness with Buckland Athletic and Sidmouth Town, the former Exeter City youngster has agreed terms with his hometown club.
Speaking to the club’s media, manager Gary Johnson said: "I’m pleased that Phil has agreed to sign for us ahead of the new campaign.
"He’s had a really positive pre-season, considering where he came from after a series of horrendous injuries.
"His recovery to where he is now is nothing short of miraculous.
"He’s been very loyal to the Taunton Town football family.
"Being a local lad, I’m sure our supporters will be happy that he’s now officially one of us.
"In fact, I can hear the song now: ‘Phil Mendonca, he’s one of our own’."
