Hydro Harrier completes two-day parkrun and half marathon

Hydro Harrier Jim Shaun completed two races in one weekend, including a half marathon in 1:35:44.

He was among five club members at Longrun Meadow parkrun’s 5k route on Saturday, September 5.

Shaun finished 11th of 450 runners in 19:10.

Chris Jones was 41st in 21:39, while Brian Pearson placed 90th in 24:10s.

Phil Mansell finished 155th in 26:41, wearing the club’s new kit, and Charles Mason was 179th in 27:46.

Andy White ran at Weston-super-Mare Marine Parade's parkrun, finishing 44th of 303 runners in 22:01.

Shaun then spontaneously entered the Bridgwater Half Marathon the following day

After his parkrun, he completed the 13.1-mile course in warm conditions and finished 70th of 528.

Ian Salter also competed in a separate event on the same day, recording an unofficial 5000m time of 19:49 in the South West Athletics League event.
