BISHOPS Lydeard have effectively sewed up the Under-16 Division One title in the Tony Pryce Taunton and District Youth League.

Their 3-0 victory at home to Watchet on Sunday means they can only be caught on goal difference and theirs is far superior than second-placed Wesesex, who have completed their fixtures.

Lydeard were also in action on Tuesday but the result was not known as the County Gazette went to press.

BLACKBROOK Gunners have been crowned U-12 Division One champions following their 4-2 win at home to Wessex.

That win put them out of reach of second-placed Bishops Lydeard, who have finished their fixture programme.

HOLWAY kept their title hopes alive in the U-15 Division One with a 3-1 victory at Twyford Spartans.

That win extended their lead at the top to five points but second-placed Minehead, who were without a game, have three games in hand.

STAPLEGROVE moved two points clear in Division One of the U-14 section with a 1-0 victory at Minehead.

However, second-placed Blackbrook Gunners have a game in hand as the table stands. The result of their match at Wembdon was not reported.

TIVERTON Town are firm favorites to take the U-13 Division One title.

After a 6-0 victory over Wembdon, they are a point behind leaders Bishops Lydeard but have three games in hand.

Heathfield continued to gear up for their Tesco County Cup final with a 6-1 victory over Holway, courtesy of goals from Jack Kelly (3), Luke Vaughan, Charlie Purvis and Ryan Andrews (pen).
