Toolstation League Division One: Minehead 0 Westbury United 3.

MINEHEAD completed their home fixtures programme with yet another comprehensive defeat and are now virtually certain to finish bottom of the league table.

The Blues competed well for the opening 15 minutes, but after they took the lead in the 16th minute the visitors always looked like the final winners.

Westbury went in front the lead when a shot was deflected into his own net by Jack Groves-Furse and saves by keeper Sam Hutchings, from Wayne Wheeler and Ashley Groves, prevented the visitors from going further ahead.

Minehead’s only notable effort on goal came after 33 minutes when a header by Guy Burns was easily held by the keeper.

Five minutes after the interval the Blues found themselves two goals down when Nathan Hallett converted a low cross at the far post. Four minutes later the result was put beyond doubt when the outstanding Tarick Yackou raced through to beat Hutchings with a well-placed low shot just inside the upright.

Despite bringing on all three substitutes Minehead rarely appeared likely to reduce the arrears and in the final minute substitute Ed Barney summed up their performance when he sent his shot over the crossbar with only the keeper to beat.
