THE Taunton and District Sunday League lifted the Mavis Tate Cup after defeating the Perry Street League 3-1 in the final at Shepton Mallet FC.
The young and talented Taunton side completley outplayed Perry Street and took and early lead when James Weaver netted with a shot from the edge of the box.
Perry Street drew level with a breakaway goal but Taunton regained the lead five minutes before half-time when Tom Edwards netted.
Taunton dominated the second half and deservedly added a third goal when Ryan Vickery scored direct free-kick. Taunton continued to contol the game and were unlucky not to increase their tally with many near misses.
David Hartnell was named Taunton’s man of the match.
