Taunton Rugby Club have almost completed their summer signings.

Exeter Chiefs scrum-half Richard Bolt and Plymouth Albion utility back Gary Kingdom have put pen to paper on deals that see them join the Hyde Park club.

There may be one more addition to the Taunton squad this summer, a front row forward, but otherwise the summer signings are finished.

Director of rugby Lee Waddon said: “I’m twisting this last player’s arm, and I’m sure he’ll sign but I can’t say any more until there’s ink drying on the page.”

Bolt, 22, has been at Exeter since signing as an 18-year-old.

He has played at two Under-19 World Cups alongside Danny Cipriani and Danny Care and has won the County championship with Devon. Bolt’s former clubs include North Tawton, Okehampton and Exeter.

Gary Kingdom has eight years’ worth of Championship experience, having played for Exeter Chiefs and Plymouth Albion since leaving the University of Gloucestershire in 2003. The 6ft 2in utility back can play across the back line and has a wealth of experience at full-back and on the wing.

Taunton have already announced the signings of former Barbarian’s fly-half Tony Yapp, ex-Chiefs centre Stephen Ward and former Newbury flanker Scott Witcom.

Taunton have also acquired the services of ex-Weston back row George Sparks, Taunton-born lock Gregory Charlton, and another former Newbury flanker, Sean Fox. Winger Jason Luff, 26, has also signed from Exeter Chiefs.

Other new faces to look out for in pre season training are Max Richards, a centre from Hartpury College, Charlie Lenygon, a lock from Newton Abbott, Joe Bartlett, a scrum-half from Ivybridge College, Tom Popham, a centre from Exeter Chiefs academy and George Davis, a prop from Moseley.
