PLAYING off a handicap of two, Jon Ball just missed out on the top spot in the weekly Stableford at Oake Manor.

His 41 points were good enough to take him to the top of the leader board but a better back nine from Phil Howard secured him the overall No1 spot.

Jon Greenslade continued his remarkable run in competitions by coming third with 40 points, just edging out Lee Ayres on countback.

The division two winner with 40 points was Richard Clist with Roger Goodman in second place with 39pts beating Peter Jeanes on countback.

The annual absent friends trophy was played out with the winning team coming from the trio of Richard Clist, Rod Sully and Jon Rose with a team score of 74 pts.

Other competition results: Division 1 winner: Paul Spackman 42 pts, Phil Howard 38 and Barry warburton 37. Division 2 winner: Ian Dannon 40 pts, Peter Male on countback with 39 pts from Peter Webber and Guy Backhouse.

Division 1 winner: Sam Phillips 42 pts, Master Alex Trepass 40, Martin Kelly with 38 again on countback from Jon greenslade with 38 pts.

In the the Seniors stableford, Peter Taylor took the honours with 41 pts just edging out former club captain Pete Swann on 40 with John Evans in third spot on 39 pts.

The ladies section have begun their 2012 season with wins for Natalie Lawrence and Rachel Hughes.

The club hold their Annual General Meeting on March 22 together with the presentation of trophies, and the Captains Drive In is being held the following Sunday to welcome in the four new captains for 2012.
