Wellington A got their own back on Bridgwater after their recent defeat.

Laurie Greaves, Paul Kelly and Mike Groves won easily on their rink 23-12.

Brian Etherington, Martin Speakman and Ken Brown sneaked a win by one shot, 15-14, and Wellington's only loss was on Bill Heard's rink which went down to Norman Allan's Bridgwater side 22-16.

Wellington had the victory 54-48 and went home happy with ten points in the bag.

Wellington B were not as fortunate in their match against BCL (Bridgwater).

Roger Peddle, Matt Geraghty and Rod Corkett came out winners on their rink despite a desperate start where they found themselves 10-0 down. They picked up 19 shots in the remaining ends to win 19-13.

Fran Marshall's side lost out in a close encounter 12-18 and Vernon Adams' men also went down 11-20 so the Bridgwater teams won overall 51-42.

Wellington's A Team followed up their win at Bridgwater with another victory against Williton.

Mike Groves' side won convincingly against Derek Sully's Williton 23-13.

Bill Heard's men managed a close two shot win by 22-20 and although Mark Phillips' team went down 24-13, Wellington took the match 58-57.

Wellington B Team made up for their defeat at BCL by playing excellent bowls against a strong Ilminster team. Roland Bath's men had a fairly close game but won 21-17.

Vernon Adams' side also had a close run thing came out on top 17-13.

Mike Lockyer, Dennis Courtney, Bob Clarke and Fran Marshall played an excellent game to win 24-8.

So Wellington B team came away 62-38 winners and with all 12 points.
