TAUNTON Titans face the toughest task of their season so far, as they travel to unbeaten National 2 South leaders Chinnor tomorrow (ko 3pm).

The Titans bounced back from two successive defeats to win the first of three successive games against the other members of the top four in the league, beating Redingensians Rams 31-21 last weekend.

It leaves Tony Yapp’s side six points behind Chinnor, who have 11 wins and a draw from their opening 12 matches in the competition this season.

The Titans were unable to get one over this weekend’s opponents last season, drawing 13-13 at home and losing 38-29 up in Oxfordshire.

There is no match for Taunton 2nd XV (who lead the South West Pilot League by a huge 21-point margin) this Saturday, but Taunton 3rds are in action, at home to Crewkerne 2nds.

TOMORROW also sees Wellington travel to Bude in the Cornwall & Devon League.

The Cornishmen, along with Wellington, dropped down a league last season and were a bit of a bogey side for the Red & Blacks in the last league campaign, beating them twice.

Bude are a difficult team to play and are always strong, especially at home, so Wellington will need to bring their A game for this encounter.

Wellington 2nd XV were without a game last weekend, and they currently lie ninth in the Somerset 1 standings.

This coming Saturday, they are at home to Old Bristolians, who are 11th (second bottom).

Wiveliscombe 1st XV are without a game, meanwhile, but their 2nds do have a game - at home to Castle Cary.

And Minehead Barbarians are back in action after last weekend’s layoff, as they welcome Old Redcliffians in the Somerset Premier Division.

Their 2nd XV visit Bridgwater & Albion 3rds.
