WITH the new season almost upon us, Wellington RFC’s new Under-14s are looking to add strength and depth to their squad.
This will be the team’s first season of 15-a-side rugby, so they would like to recruit some new players to help drive the team forward and match the success of last year’s Under-14s, who set the benchmark by winning the Somerset Cup.
The coaches have introduced evening training sessions between 6pm and 7pm – the sessions are free and it doesn’t matter what shape or size you are, as they will be focused around fun and increasing fitness.
Anyone who would like to try rugby for the first time can come along and have a go – it’s all about having fun, socialising with people of the same age age and hopefully making lifelong friendships.
Anyone interested can just turn up to one of the training sessions, or contact head coach for the age group Nick Gilding, via nickgilding @icloud.com.
Alternatively, assistant coach Duncan Leslie can be contacted at duncan.leslie@swallowfield.com or ‘celebrity coach’ Huw Weston (Mr Welly Stock) via huw@huwweston.com.
