WEST Somerset pool fans will be cue-ing up to watch an international pool professional and former world champion in Minehead tomorrow (Friday)

Carl Morris will be playing a charity pool exhibition in the Crazy Horse Saloon at Butlins from 7pm.

As part of a tournament set to continue all weekend, Carl will play against all on-comers to raise vital funds for the National Deaf Children's Association (NDCS).

The money raised at the pool exhibition will contribute to Carl's sponsorship as he prepares to take on a gruelling trek to the North Police in April 2008.

Not only has he pledged to raise £27,000 for NDCS, but by completing the trek he will become the first deaf person ever to reach the North Pole.

During the unique expedition, the group of eight hearing and deaf people will cover 70-miles.

Carl said: "Being deaf myself, I know what it's like to be a deaf child worrying about what the future holds.

"By trekking to the North Pole I will prove what deaf people can achieve, and show that it is possible to overcomeany barriers they might face.

"The money I raise will pay for ten deaf children to have a cochlear implant which will enable them to hear again."Helen Williams, NDCS Head of Events said: "Every day in the UK three babies are born deaf and 90% are born tohearing parents with little experience of deafness.

"The NDCS is funded almost entirely through public donations so none of our work would be possible without the commitment of people like Carl and the North Pole expedition team."To pledge your support and to find out more about Carl's pool exhibition nights visit www.justgiving.com/northpoletrek2 or emailcarl.morris@charityexhibitions.com.
