Store Cattle, Sucklers & Stirks (1315): Store Cattle (754): Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a tremendous entry of 1315 store cattle, sucklers and stirks on an almost Spring like day, which saw sun and hail! Still no grass to encourage graziers and ever falling deadweight quotes and increasingly onerous grading specifications are reducing the finished value. All things considered the store cattle trade still looks very dear for the better types.

Many cattle spoilt by being over 26 months and non FABBL, over 30 or 36 months or poorly done. Some cattle would have been better sold months, if not a year ago. The finished trade is becoming increasingly tight and it is consequently harder and harder for finishers to produce cattle which meet market requirements if they havn’t had them early enough. That means selling store cattle younger to allow others to bring them on, which will ultimately be more profitable.
