Best heifers in demand when the trade was fuelled by the presence of 2 Welsh men who were in attendance. Top price was £1540 for a second calver from Mr MC Powell. Other cows to £1360 from Mr D Tottle and £1300 Mr J Snook. Shorthorn cross cow (2nd) £1100 from Messrs PW & JA Bevan from Abergavenny.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report an excellent entry of store cattle for the first week of June at 574 head, 32.6% up on the year and part of a total entry of 877 with the stirks and grazing cows. A better show of cattle but a much improved trade as numbers generally begin to run short. A large attendance of buyers secure in the knowledge that they can source a lorry load to minimise costs and also encouraged by the recent improvements in the finished price.

Top was £1330 for the best of a super run of fleshed Blue steers from Mr R & Mrs E Baker & Son, Cannington (all 19/21m & FA) who sold others at £1295, £1290 and £1272. A grand run of grazing steers from Mr PJ Betty, Othery sold exceptionally well to a top of £1250 for 26/27m and FA Limousins. 26/27m and FA Charolais at £1240, 23/25m and FA Simmentals at £1238, 23/25m and FA Charolais at £1200, 19/26m and FA Limousins at £1190 and 22/24m and FA Simmentals at £1180, all from the same farm.
