THE Mountains of Madness is a chilling horror story set among one of the coldest places of earth.

Desperate and exhausted, Dr William Dyer returns from a cursed expedition to the Antarctic.

He keeps deep secrets of what he encountered among the wintry wasteland, knowing that speaking of it can only shatter his fragile mind and put others at risk.

But as he comes to the realisation that more scientists are planning to go further into the penetrating cold than he dared, will his secrets unfold? Will he finally be resigned to speak? Will he share the truth, and give the audience terrifying glimpses of the horror of things that should not be?

Be drawn into the untold world of the Antarctic, and stumble upon unnameable horrors that lie beyond The Mountains of Madness.

Icarus Theatre Collective brings you Tim Hardy in the first theatre adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s chilling masterpiece.

Dr William Dyer is brought vividly to life, trapped and tormented by visions of what he saw – and what he could not possibly have seen – in those ancient, Antarctic, mountains of madness.

After their performance of The Trials of Galileo in January, Icarus Theatre return to the Regal Theatre with this fascinating production of At The Mountains Of Madness.

Adapted by Max Lewendel & Tim Hardy from the Gothic novel by HP Lovecraft, Regal audiences will be thrilled to see Tim Hardy once again giving a solo performance as William Dyer, the leader of a disastrous expedition to the Antarctic.

Lovecraft considered At the Mountains of Madness to be his best and most ambitious story. One of his longest tales, this story languished for more than five years before it was first published in Astounding Stories magazine.

After working successfully together on The Trials of Galileo to tour Malta, Spain, the Edinburgh Fringe, America, and the UK, RSC actor and RADA faculty Tim Hardy rejoins the Icarus Theatre Collective for a return to the Regal Theatre.

The Regal Theatre, Minehead. Friday, February 19 at 7.30pm.
