THE sensational 19-piece band, The Bratislava Hot Serenaders orchestra belongs to the list of the few strictly “early jazz” oriented bands in the world.

The band’s 20 enthusiastic musicians have played together without interruption since the formation of the group in season 1991/1992.

Their playing adheres to the sound, style, and feel of such orchestra’s as Paul Whiteman, Jean Goldkette, and Duke Ellington, in addition to featuring Czech, Slovak, and other European classic jazz tunes of the period.

It is difficult to describe this band's unique style. Its not just the music or the talented players, there is somethign special about everything they do.

Hot jazz and sweet dance music from the 1920’s and 30’s combine with period dressing and genuine style. They are led by the acclaimed trumpeter Juraj Bartoš and feature brass, reeds, rhythm section, four violins, the Serenaders Sisters Vocal Trio, and two male singers.

The BHS are guaranteed to dazzle and bewitch with their brilliant recreations.

Audiences across the world have warmed to their unique style of play and humour. The band always dress accordingly, setting a scene which sets the moods and is a sure fire winner from start to finish.

The Bratislava Hot Serenaders are well established outside of Slovakia. In 1994 the orchestra won the Sidney d´Or Prix at the Grand Festival of Music of 20´s and 30´s in Saint Raphael, France.

They regularly appear in concert, and at festivals both in their home country of Slovakia, and abroad. Some of the venues played in the past include St. Petersburg Tour (Russian federation 2016), Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival and the Riverboat Jazz Festival Silkeborg in Denmark.
