A TAUNTON musician will be playing his first full show in his home town tomorrow (April 26).
Darren Hodge, an acoustic guitar artist, will be making an appearance at the highly anticipated Creative Innovation Centre’s Acoustic Guitar Mashup.
Among the artists appearing with the youngster are Lee Rahn, Rob Gallie, Matt Sullivan and Guru.
The 18-year-old, who has recorded songs such as ‘16 Years Young’ and ‘Buster Groovin’, has given up a lot for his passion for music, but he feels confident in his abilities and is looking forward to his first “proper” gig.
Darren said: “This is my first proper headlining act and it should be a really good gig – there are lots of good artists supporting me.
“This is my real job and I had to give up college to follow my music career, but it has paid off so far and the gigs keep coming, so I’m happy with how things are going.”
Darren will also be playing festivals in the upcoming weeks, including an appearance at Glastonbury 2014.
The doors open at 7pm, and tickets cost £7 if booked online or £9 on the door.
