IN 1964, Mr E H Collard of 12 Holford Road, Bridgwater appealed in the Somerset County Gazette for information about the early history of the Collegiate School at Bridgwater between 1860 and 1946.
It was more commonly known at that time as Brian Norris’ School.
I am appealing to anyone, particularly surviving members of Mr Collard’s family, as to whether there was any information collected relating to that period of the school.
After 1946 it moved to near Malmesbury, then to near Bath and finally to near Newport Pagnell before it closed in 1969. At that time it was known as Rodbourne College, and I was there 1962-64.
I am researching the history of the school but the early years are obscure. I would be very grateful for any help in clarifying the early history.
