VIVARY Park is still feeling the effects of the flooding which left parts of it under three feet of water.

There is damage to the tarmac walkways near the bandstand and more serious damage near the back gate to the park where the force of the water has ripped up the path.

A Taunton Deane Council spokesman said: “Work is due to start this week on putting this right.

“The cost is not yet known as we need to assess the extent of the damage as it comes to light once the work gets underway.

“Most of the plants survived apart from some polyanthus which will need to be replanted.”
