CUSTOMERS and producers have said a fond but sad farewell to the Williton Country Market after its 35 years loyal service to the village.

Organisers decided to shut up shop as it became ever clearer they could not compete with the low prices offered by supermarkets in these testing economic times.

Secretary Barbara Heywood thanked the market’s loyal customers for their support through thick and thin.

“It’s the end of an era,” she added.
