THE Game store in Taunton is the latest high street victim and will close on Saturday (January 26).

The County Gazette spoke to branch manager Damon Jordan who told us eight staff are affected and will either be transferred to other stores or seek new jobs.

He added: "We found out at the beginning of January.

"The landlord and new company were negotiating the rent at the store and the lease is up."

Ouch I hate Game but bad news that they are closing in Taunton. I used to shop in Gamestation when it was open, even though they are the same company, but I just never liked Game.

Looks like the prices at Cedex or however you spell it might rise now with little competition.

Still thank god for online shopping and ebay in particular.
