Taunton Blockbuster staff facing uncertain future
TAUNTON’S Blockbuster store is one of 31 in the UK earmarked for closure, putting more local retail jobs at risk.
Another in Chard has been put on notice for closure but administrators from Deloitte say the plans will not be enforced immediately.
Both outlets will run promotional offers and customers will be told the date of closure in advance.
A spokesperson from Deloitte said: “All are still open and operating as each is being closed down on a case by case basis, depending on sales and agreements with landlords.”
About five staff at each of the DVD rental retailers is facing redundancy.
