Taunton's HMV store WILL close

The store in Fore Street was not on a list of 66 set for the axe nationwide when the music and games chain went into administration in January.

But Deloitte has just announced a further 37 stores, including Taunton’s, will close over the next to four to six weeks.

A statement said: “The affected stores employ 464 staff. No fixed date is set for the closure of these stores which will continue to trade in the meantime.”

Nick Edwards, joint administrator, added: “We are extremely grateful to the staff for their continued strong support and commitment during an understandably difficult period.”
