TWO men who tried to rob Watchet Post Office in broad daylight have been jailed.
Martin Gunning, 22, and Thomas Freeman, 26, of Birmingham, were jailed for two-and-a-half years at Taunton Crown Court today (November 14).
The pair admitted attempted robbery following the morning raid on May 2.
A third offender, Ali Kaesar, 24, also of Birmingham, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and was given a 12-month prison sentence. He will be released having already served six months while in custody.
Freeman must serve an extra six months after breaching a suspended sentence given to him by a judge at Birmingham Crown Court last year.
He and Gunning were also ordered to pay £120 victim surcharge, while Kaesar must pay £100.
