It's taken an hour and a half to drive in from Milverton to Taunon. Roads looked clear after the temporary teaffic lights at Staplegrove turned off at Corckscrew lane. Some notice would have been nice so I could have avoided that route and not been so late for work!
A SOMERSET County Council spokesman said: "Roadworks (on Staplegrove Road) were scheduled to take place overnight and were due to be cleared away before the rush hour this morning.
"Unfortunately, this didn't happen and we're now investigating to find out why."
COMMUTERS who have made it into work in Taunton are complaining that it took them about an hour to get from Hillfarrance to the town centre.
TRAFFIC is queued back from Staplegrove Road, at marker A, to Norton Fitzwarren on the B3227.

TEMPORARY traffic lights are in place in Staplegrove Road, which may be the cause of the problem.
This is for repair work, which according to Somerset County Council's website, should be completed tomorrow.
THE County Gazette has been contacted by frustrated motorists wanting to know why their journey into Taunton from the west is taking far longer than usual.
