M5 reopened following crash between Wellington and Tiverton

- A woman has been sent to hospital "as a precaution" following a crash on the M5 Northbound between J27 A361 (Tiverton) and J26 A38 (Wellington) earlier tonight.
- Road was completely blocked but all three lanes have now been re-opened.
QUICK-THINKING members of the public rushed to help a female casualty involved in the collision before firecrews arrived, Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue service has confirmed.
A spokesperson added: "The female casualty was checked over by ambulance crews on the roadway, and conveyed to hospital as a precaution."
ALL lanes have now reopened between Junctions 26 and 27 northbound on the M5.
POLICE have confirmed that three cars collided with a vehicle that broke down in lane three of the M5 northbound near junction 26 (Wellington).
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police told the County Gazette:
"One person has been injured. Their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
"The incident is still ongoing. Fire and ambulance crews left at around 5.43pm, after which lanes 2 and 3 reopened.
"The vehicles involved are all on the hard shoulder."
TRAFFIC is building on the M5 northbound between J27 for Tiverton and J26 to Wellington due to a crash.
The road was completely blocked, but lanes two and three (Of three) have now been re-opened.
Police remain on scene.
