PIANISTS from Wellington School had the experience of a lifetime performing at the famous Steinway Hall in London.

Four lucky students spent a day at the hall to celebrate the achievements of talented young pianists from across the South-West.

The budding musicians looked around the workshops, spoke to staff and played the exquisite pianos with all the winners of a competition coming from Wellington.

Sixth former Cindy Ma won the advanced class in the piano competition and Thea Phillips, aged 14, won the intermediate class.

Also performing were Lydia Mitchell, 13, who won the foundation class, and 13-year-old Nathaniel Jenkins.
