  • Scaffolding collapse causes delays in Kingston Road
  • Building materials now clear and traffic has returned to normal
  • Nobody was hurt in incident this afternoon


THE County Gazette has visited the site and the scaffolding has now been cleared, and traffic has returned to normal.

Part of a wall gave way, causing the scaffolding to collapse. Nobody was hurt. 


THE snooker club and sports bar closed in November 2012 and is being demolished to make way for 29 one-bedroom and 11 two-bed apartments.


FALLEN objects are believed to be blocking Kingston Road in both directions. 


SCAFFOLDING from building work taking place at the former Rileys Snooker Club is understood to have fallen onto the road earlier this afternoon.
