THE Miracle - a new 21st century play, brings Heathfield Community School's five week long Drama Festival to a spectacular close from February 6-8.

Written by Lin Coghlan, this remarkable and uplifting piece of theatre is set against the background of a troubled nation and the Iraq War.

It explores the innate wisdom of youth.

The plot begins with the flood of a town and somehow an ordinary teenager discovers the power to perform miracles that transform the lives of other young people.

But then the adults find out and Ron is hauled up to face their questions and suspicion.

Who can they turn to, though, when a troubled young soldier, back from his tour of duty in Iraq goes missing…?

In a world where we demand to know everything, it is about the importance of what we don't know.

Graeme Ryan, Head of Drama said: "We've had a fantastic run of plays this year with over a hundred students taking part.

"There's something very special about the energy and vitality of young people in performance and I very much hope that members of the public get the chance to see this final show in the series. It really is an uplifting experience."

Performances will be held at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre from 7.30pm.

Tickets for the show, priced at just £6/£4 concessions, are available from the box office by calling 01823-414141 and from the Tourist Information Centre in Taunton.
