THAT time of year when many of us love the fact with come from Somerset is approaching again - as the countdown to everyone's favourite Glastonbury Festival beings.

This year, Mr Eavis's fabulous event is taking place from June 22-24.

As part of the festivals tireless campaign to beat the ticket touts, organisers have introduced pre-sales registration, which has started today (Thursday).

Anyone wishing to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2007 will have to register, supplying a photograph of themselves, so that everyone going to the festival will have their picture on the ticket.

You can register between now and Wednesday, February 28 in a number of different ways.

Online registration will be available online at www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk or by post.

Postal application forms can be picked up from any branch of Millets, the high street camping store, or you can download a form from www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk People will then be supplied with a registration number by email which you will need to quote when you try to purchase tickets when they go on sale on Sunday, April 1.

Although no acts will be officially announced until tickets go on sale, it is rumoured that bands including The Who, The Artic Monkeys, The Killers and The Scissor Sisters may be featuring on the bill.

This year organisers have announced a series of links to ethical, carbon and waste-reducing products including solar-powered life preservers for mobile phone addicts and camping equipment.
