A BISHOP'S Hull man has potentially helped save 124 lives.

That’s how many pints of blood Peter Bourner has given over the years – and he’s planning to give plenty more.

Peter, now aged 74, gave his first pint in 1962 when he rushed to the donation centre in his Scout uniform after running a cub meeting while at college.

He recently attended a regional blood donors award ceremony, where people who had donated 75 and 100 units received awards.

Peter received a glass trophy to mark his dedication.

He said: “I hope to continue donating blood for many more years – and to encourage young people to take up the challenge.”
