ORGANISERS of Kelsey’s Cancer Fund got their new charitable venture off to a flying start this Easter weekend.

Families flocked to Taunton’s Holiday Inn for a fun day event with face painting, stalls, Easter egg hunt and a bouncy castle.

Kelsey Petty, who is now in remission, was diagnosed with cancer when she was just one, and now her family want to help other families by raising money for Making Precious Memories.

Fundraiser Wayne Sellick said: “It was very well attended on Saturday and we raised a good amount of money even though we haven’t finished totting it all up yet.

“Everybody seemed to enjoy it and we have had some great feedback.

“Kelsey is now in remission and it was great to see her enjoying it too, we have got some lovely snaps of her on the bouncy castle and so on.

“Make Precious Memories is the carry on really from the Kelsey’s Cancer Fund; Kelsey’s mum, Miranda, decided that she wanted to do something to help other families dealing with such an illness and this was our first event, so thanks to everyone who made it a success.”
