A COFFEE morning held at Taking Shape in Taunton, in aid of a Somerset charity raised £71.

The event was organised to raise money for Headway Somerset, an organisation which helps residents in Somerset live as independently as possible after brain injury.

Samantha Bell, from the organisation, said: “It was a really good morning and we had lots of people come in throughout the morning.

“We hold a few of these every year to help raise money for our rehabilitation centres throughout Somerset.

“We have a lot of clients in Taunton who use our Bridgwater Centre and the coffee mornings are a good way to let members of the public find out a bit more about us and what we do.

“It is in our long-term plan to one day open a centre in Taunton.

“Thank you to everyone who came along and donated on the day.”

Plans for this year’s Dragon Boat Race which is organised by Headway Somerset, are also underway.

This year’s Boat Race will be taking place on June 7.
