TOMORROW’S budding business people have been presented with bursary awards by Taunton Chamber of Commerce.
The business study students from Taunton’s four secondary schools received their awards at an event at the Corner House Hotel, in Taunton.
Chamber president Colin Barrell presented awards in recognition of their achievements in business studies to Jazz Chapman and Matt Lee, of Bishop Fox’s; George Hodges and Lucas O’Dowd Jones (Castle School); Amy Davis, Emily Lowe and Olivia Dodimead (Heathfield); and Natalie Prouse (Taunton Academy).
Mr Barrell told winners and guests that it is essential to encourage the business people of the future.
Bishop Fox’s deputy head teacher Steve Summerill said: “Tthe value of these awards are in the fact the students get recognised for their business and enterprise skills and qualities which aren’t always reflected in exams and the awards recognise entrepreneurial skill which is vital in today’s world.”
