TEENAGER Ashley Carter got his friends and family to donate items for a garage sale in aid of the hospice that cared for his late grandfather.
Ashley, 14, from Taunton, raised £262.25 for Bishop's Hull-based St Margaret's Hospice in memory of his grandfather, Frank.
A St Margaret's spokesman said: "Ashley was so impressed with the care that he and the whole family received that he immediately started thinking of ways to raise money.
"He had a very successful day at a car boot sale, and topped up the amount raised with some generous donations."
