FIREFIGHTERS were called to Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital after alarms were sounding in the children's ward in the Old Builduing.
Crews noted a "slight smell of electrical burning" in a treatment room after the callout just after 11.30pm yesterday, Monday, August 3.
They used a thermal imaging camera to locate the incident involving a light fitting and confirmed it was out on their arrival.
They isolated the electrics and made the area safe before leaing duty of care with site staff, who awaited the arrival of an engineer.
Damage was confined to the light fitting.
