TAUNTON man Chu Lam has been presented with a citizenship award for his work in improving the quality of life for the town's Chinese population.
Mr Lam, who first came to Taunton 47 years ago, was given his award last week, as he was unable to make the official ceremony last month.
As part of his efforts Mr Lam set up the Somerset Chinese Association and School 10 years ago, which was based at Ladymead School on Sundays, but has now moved to Six Acres.
This provided a tremendous support to Chinese people living in this area.
