THOUSANDS of gallons of fresh water have been donated to Huish Episcopi School, in Langport, by Wessex Water after its swimming pool sprung a leak.
Mike Horton, small schemes, Wessex Water said: "We were literally thrown in the deep end but were only pleased to help.
"The 90,000 gallons took some 30 trips to deliver."
The water was treated and chlorinated over the weekend ready for use on Monday.
The critical sewers team from Wessex Water's small schemes department were also called in to undertake an urgent relining of the sewer along The Hillside at Langport.
Graham Roff, head teacher at Huish Episcopi School said: "Swimming is an absolutely vital skill which we want all our students gain.
"One day it may save their life or help them save the life of another person.
"The leak had placed our swimming programme in jeopardy and it is a great relief that the repairs have been made."
