THE search is continuing on the Isles of Scilly for a Taunton man who has been missing since the early hours of Sunday, (September 13).

Josh Clayton, 23, was last seen on the island of Tresco on Sunday morning.

Specialist search teams are continuing their work on Tresco today.

The team includes specialist search officers from the mainland, two lost person search managers, detectives and local neighbourhood officers from the Isles of Scilly.

Some new areas of the island are being searched, but the appeal for any information from the public regarding Josh’s disappearance continues.

Chief Inspector Mark Bolt said: “We continue to search the island in a co-ordinated manner, but as time goes on there is inevitably more and more concern for Josh’s welfare.

“Those officers on the island are highly skilled and are dealing with what they have described as tough terrain, but the search will continue throughout today.

“I would continue to appeal for any member of the public who may have any information about the last known movements of Josh any time around 1.45am on Sunday to speak to police as soon as possible.

“We are in close contact with Josh’s family and are keeping them updated with developments.”

Josh, from Taunton, Somerset, had been working at a hotel on Tresco before his disappearance.

Anyone with information regarding the search for Josh is asked to contact 101 or speak to any officers locally on Tresco.
