BLACKBROOK Primary School welcomed internationally renowned author Steve Voake into their school last week.
Steve, who used to work as a head teacher at a Somerset primary school, went back to his roots to inspire and engage budding young creative writers.
The school invited Steve to deliver an assembly and a series of workshops.
The pupils enjoyed listening to extracts from his top sellers and produced creative writing with his guidance.
The visit is one of a number of events planned this year to promote a love a reading and writing.
Head teacher, Barney Rycroft, said: "It was fantastic to see children engrossed and absorbed by Steve’s books and the event has definitely helped us promote a life-long love of reading."
