A PROCESSION of people will chant to wake up the trees so they produce a bumper crop of apples this year in the Frieze Hill Community Orchard, Taunton.
The annual wassail ceremony on Saturday (January 16) features the Lord of Misrule and the wassail prince and princess leading the crowd.
There will be a bonfire and fireworks, with entertainment from the Big Noise Street Band and wassail songs from the Wood Street Community Choir.
Taunton Thespian Mummers will perform a St George and The Dragon written specially for the occasion.
The event, from 5pm to 7pm, is free and people are encouraged to take bells, whistles, horns and drums.
