CHILDREN at Hatch Beauchamp School took a step back in time to learn all about the history of medicine.
The topic was kicked off with a Tudor medicine activity day to inspire them with a carousel of activities to take part in.
They first learned about pomanders and made their own using herbs, spices and fragranced oils before then learning about the plague and how doctors wore masks to protect them.
The children then had a go at being a doctor, prescribing herbs which could be used as medicines, before finding out about potions and investigated how lavender oil and rose water mixed with different substances.
Head teacher Lisa Liza Mackay said the day had been informative and enjoyable.
“The children had a thoroughly exciting day and the classroom smelt beautiful by the end of the day,” she said.
