COASTGUARDS in West Somerset have warned the public after a man died jumping 30ft onto rocks.
A 46-year-old man from South Wales, who has not been named, died at the scene after he jumped off the roof of a building into the sea in a stunt known as "tomb stoning" near Brixham, South Devon.
Watchet harbour is well-known among youngsters in the area for jumping into the sea.
Fred Cagill, of the Coastguard, said: "It is a great danger and goes on year after year despite all our warnings.
"It's a stupid and dangerous thing to do, whether it's from a cliff or the quayside."
In a separate incident, a 29-year-old man was taken to hospital after jumping into the sea in Cornwall and knocking himself unconscious.
