PEOPLE of all ages enjoyed a day out on the Blackdown Hills last Saturday (June 16).
The event, organised by the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership (AONB) for the Blackdown Hills annual community conference was held outdoors for the first time this year.
The day included a natural arts workshop with local artist Michael Fairfax, magical storytelling in a tipi by a stream, and guided walks through a forest near Staple Fitzpaine for a chance to look at ancient trees, rare wildflowers, and butterfly habitats.
Some walkers were lucky enough to spot the recently introduced Longhorn cattle, grazing in their new woodland home.
Visitors to the event were able to learn more about the AONB, which works to safeguard the special qualities of the hills.
