A DESPERATE plea has gone out from youngsters at Minehead Middle School who are busy rehearsing Bugsy Malone for their summer show at the beginning of next month.
A cast of 70 has been rehearsing since February, but have found themselves short of costumes.
Janette Huckle, of the school, said: "We are not panicking yet, but we are in desperate need of some black and brown suit jackets and trilby hats for Fat Sam's Gang, and Bugsy himself.
"I've got two sets but I need ten.
"We've got such a small budget we can't afford to buy or rent them."
She said donations of jackets or hats for the school's propos department would be welcome, but items lent would be returned.
The show, which includes singing and tap dancing, takes the stage from July 3-6, with performances stating at 6.30pm.
Tickets, priced £4 for adults, £2 for children, and £10 for a family ticket, are available from the school.
If you can help by donating items, contact Minehead Middle School on 01643 704191.
