A WALL hanging depicting medieval floor tiles at Cleeve Abbey, created by schoolchildren from Minehead Middle School, is to be hung in pride of place at the abbey to inspire children on future educational visits.
The hanging was created by pupils who visited the abbey two years ago on a study day.
When they got back to school they created textile designs based on the drawings and studies they had made of the 13th century heraldic floor tiles.
The textile pieces were then sewn together to make one big wall hanging.
Now the artwork is to be put on display in the abbey's education room.
Bob Westley, head of art and design at the school, said: "We have always enjoyed our visits to Cleeve Abbey and found it an exciting resource for our pupils."
